Overview Manudiaz Education Foundation is a non-profit organization (a private company limited by shares) duly registered under the Companies Act, 2013 Its registered office is located in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. It acts as the Sponsoring Body for Shri Rukmani Dwarkadhish University of Science and Technology (SRDU) under the SRDU Act, 2024. In the legislative act establishing SRDU, the term “Sponsoring Body” is explicitly defined as Manudiaz Education Foundation, Punjab. Registration & Legal Status • The foundation was incorporated on 19 May 2022 under the name Manudiaz Education Foundation. • It bears Corporate Identification / registration number U80903PB2022NPL055962. • It is classified as a non-profit / non-government company. Objectives & Role As the sponsoring body, Manudiaz Education Foundation pledges to: 1. Establish and maintain the University It provides the foundational framework, finances, and governance support required to set up and sustain SRDU. 2. Ensure academic infrastructure & support The foundation ensures the provision of world-class academic and infrastructure facilities for disciplines across science, technology, humanities, law, pharmacy, etc. 3. Nominate members to governing bodies Under the Act, the Board of Management must include persons nominated by the Sponsoring Body (e.g. two educationists) and other members recommended by it. 4. Dissolution, assets & oversight The Act grants the sponsoring body authority to dissolve the university under prescribed conditions (with due notice). In case of dissolution, all assets and liabilities revert to the Sponsoring Body, except that if dissolution occurs before 50 years, assets may vest with the State Government. 5. Compliance & accountability The foundation must ensure that the university adheres to statutory obligations, act in accordance with rules, maintain financial integrity, and submit audits and reports as required. Violations may lead to forfeiture of funds or state intervention. Vision & Mission Intent (from the SRDU Act) In the Statement of Objects & Reasons of the SRDU Bill, Manudiaz Education Foundation asserts its intention to: • Establish a self-financed private university in Sikkim, aiming to achieve high academic excellence and infrastructure standards. • Provide education in diverse fields and disciplines, with preference to Sikkimese students for admissions. • Promote holistic development, cultural integration, innovation, and social transformation through education.
